Simple Instructions
How to turn on the Scanner and Set Squelch
- Turn the Squelch and Volume knobs both fully anti-clockwise.
- Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the scanner on
- Turn the Volume knob clockwise until you hear a hissing sound.
- If the scanner is scanning, press the Hold button to stop scanning
- Turn the Squelch knob clockwise until the hissing stops.
How to store Known Frequencies in Channels
- Press the Hold button.
- Use the number buttons to enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency.
- Then press the Func button followed by the Pgm button. The channel number appears.
- Use the number and decimal point buttons to input the frequency you want to store (in MHz).
- Press E to store the frequency in the channel.
- To program the next channel in sequence, press E and repeat Steps 4 and 5.
What Memory Channels are stored in What Banks?

| 2 | 11 to 20 |
| 3 | 21 to 30 |
| 4 | 31 to 40 |
| 5 | 41 to 50 |
| 6 | 51 to 60 |
| 7 | 61 to 70 |
| 8 | 71 to 80 |
| 9 | 81 to 90 |
| 10 | 91 to 100 |
To switch a memory bank on or off, press the corresponding number button (note that the 0 button is used for bank 10).
How to Lock Out a Memory Channel
- Select the channel
- Press Func + L/O
- L/O will appear, indicating that the channel is locked out
Repeating the above on a locked channel will unlock the channel.
How to Unlock All Memory Channels:
- Press Hold to stop scanning
- Press Func
- Press and hold L/O until the scanner beeps twice
How to Program a Frequency into the Currently Selected Channel
- Press Func
- Press Pgm
- Use the number and decimal point buttons to input the frequency (in MHz).
- Press E to select the frequency.
