Simple Instructions

How to turn on the Scanner and Set Squelch

  1. Turn the Squelch and Volume knobs both fully anti-clockwise.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the scanner on
  3. Turn the Volume knob clockwise until you hear a hissing sound.
  4. If the scanner is scanning, press the Hold button to stop scanning
  5. Turn the Squelch knob clockwise until the hissing stops.

How to store Known Frequencies in Channels

  1. Press the Hold button.
  2. Use the number buttons to enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency.
  3. Then press the Func button followed by the Pgm button. The channel number appears.
  4. Use the number and decimal point buttons to input the frequency you want to store (in MHz).
  5. Press E to store the frequency in the channel.
  6. To program the next channel in sequence, press E and repeat Steps 4 and 5.

What Memory Channels are stored in What Banks?

Bank:Channels:
1 1 to 10
2 11 to 20
3 21 to 30
4 31 to 40
5 41 to 50
6 51 to 60
7 61 to 70
8 71 to 80
9 81 to 90
1091 to 100

To switch a memory bank on or off, press the corresponding number button (note that the 0 button is used for bank 10).

How to Lock Out a Memory Channel

  1. Select the channel
  2. Press Func + L/O
  3. L/O will appear, indicating that the channel is locked out

Repeating the above on a locked channel will unlock the channel.

How to Unlock All Memory Channels:

  1. Press Hold to stop scanning
  2. Press Func
  3. Press and hold L/O until the scanner beeps twice

How to Program a Frequency into the Currently Selected Channel

  1. Press Func
  2. Press Pgm
  3. Use the number and decimal point buttons to input the frequency (in MHz).
  4. Press E to select the frequency.
